- 2 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2–3 ripe bananas
- 1 box of vanilla wafers
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Combine the ingredients: In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, flour, and salt.
- Thicken the mixture: Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Whisk the eggs: In a bowl, whisk the eggs, then gradually add some of the hot mixture to temper the eggs.
- Renew the cooking: Pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Layer the ingredients: In a serving dish, layer the vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture.
- Repeat the layers and finish with pudding on the top.
- Chill the pudding: Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Add whipped cream: Top with whipped cream before serving.
