Delicious chocolate-dipped peanut butter balls that evoke warm memories and bring people together.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon shortening

Instructions

  1. Combine the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Roll the mixture into small balls, about the size of a tablespoon, and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Refrigerate the balls for 30 minutes to set.
  4. Melt the chocolate chips and shortening together until smooth.
  5. Dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, leaving the top uncovered.
  6. Place the dipped Buckeyes back on the baking sheet and let them cool until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or in the refrigerator for about two weeks.
