Delightfully crispy churros with a soft, creamy center, perfect for dipping in chocolate or rolling in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Sugar and cinnamon for coating

Instructions

  1. Boil the mix: In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil, allowing the sugar to dissolve completely.
  2. Make the dough: Remove from heat and stir in the flour until smooth. Allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  3. Incorporate eggs: Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Heat the oil: In a deep pan, heat oil for frying until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Pipe the dough: Pipe the dough into the hot oil in desired lengths.
  6. Fry to perfection: Fry until golden brown, turning occasionally, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Sweeten with sugar: Mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll the warm churros in the mixture.

Notes

Pair churros with hot chocolate or vanilla ice cream for the perfect treat. For a unique twist, experiment with flavored sugars.
