- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the all-purpose flour and salt in a separate bowl, then add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
- Pour the batter into the greased and floured pan, smoothing the top if necessary.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
