A luscious dessert that balances salty and sweet with a crunchy pretzel crust and creamy layers of cheesecake and strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 package (6 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes and then let it cool.
  2. Beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar in another bowl until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping, creating a fluffy mixture. Spread this creamy goodness over the cooled pretzel crust.
  3. Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in the boiling water. After letting it cool for a few minutes, add the sliced strawberries. Stir gently to combine, and then pour this vibrant mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled, garnished with additional sliced strawberries or whipped cream. Pairs well with lemonade or iced tea.
