A classic Italian dessert featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and velvety mascarpone cream.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale.
  2. Prepare the egg mixture by heating the milk and combining it with the egg mixture.
  3. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  4. Combine mascarpone cheese with the whipped cream.
  5. Set up the coffee dip with brewed coffee and liqueur.
  6. Dip the ladyfingers in the coffee mixture briefly.
  7. Layer half of the dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of the serving dish.
  8. Complete the assembly with remaining ingredients.
  9. Chill the Tiramisu for at least 4 hours.
  10. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality mascarpone and fresh eggs for best flavor. Allow for overnight chilling if possible.
