A rich yet refreshing dessert made with three types of milk, soaking into a soft and airy cake for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Fresh fruit for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent the cake from sticking.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  6. Prepare the milk mixture by mixing evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk until smooth.
  7. Soak the cooled cake by poking holes on top with a fork. Pour the milk mixture over the cake and allow it to soak for at least 2 hours or overnight in the fridge.
  8. Serve slices topped with whipped cream and optional fresh fruit garnish.
