Delicious and healthy Vegan Black Bean Burgers packed with protein and fiber, customizable with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Stir in the breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding spices such as smoked paprika or cayenne pepper. If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs to help bind it. You can also grill these burgers, but handle carefully to avoid breaking.
